Yucca elephantipes, commonly known as the Spineless Yucca or Giant Yucca, is a striking indoor plant characterized by its architectural form and low-maintenance nature. Yucca elephantipes features a thick, woody trunk topped with a rosette of long, sword-shaped leaves. The leaves are stiff, narrow, and taper to a point, with a green-gray coloration. As the plant matures, it may produce clusters of white flowers on tall stalks, although this is less common indoors.

Yucca elephantipes is mildly toxic if ingested, so it should be kept out of reach of children and pets. The sap of the plant may cause skin irritation in sensitive individuals.

• Light: Yucca elephantipes thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. Place it near a window where it can receive several hours of sunlight each day. It can tolerate lower light conditions but may grow more slowly.

• Watering: Allow the soil to dry out partially between waterings. Water the plant thoroughly when the top few inches of soil feel dry to the touch, and ensure that excess water can drain freely from the pot. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot.
