The Silver Torch Cactus, scientifically known as Cleistocactus strausii, is a unique and visually striking cactus species that is often grown indoors as a decorative plant. The Silver Torch Cactus features slender, columnar stems covered in dense white or silver spines, giving it a striking silvery appearance. As it matures, it develops numerous ribs along its stems, creating a ribbed texture.
Light: Silver Torch Cacti thrive in bright, indirect sunlight. Place them near a south or west-facing window where they can receive plenty of sunlight throughout the day. However, they can tolerate some direct sunlight, especially in the morning or late afternoon.
Watering: Silver Torch Cacti are drought-tolerant and prefer infrequent but thorough watering. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, and then water deeply until water drains from the bottom of the pot. Reduce watering frequency during the winter dormancy period to prevent root rot.
