The cultivation takes place via direct sowing from May to July in good garden soil. A pre-culture in the cold frame or greenhouse can be done in small pots. Planting takes place from mid-May to late July. Radicchio has only a medium nutritional requirement. Continuous water supply is necessary. The typical color increases on cool nights.
