Hoya Carnosa "Wax Plant"

Hoya carnosa, commonly known as the Wax Plant or Hindu Rope Plant, is a popular indoor plant appreciated for its waxy succulent-like leaves that are typically dark green in color. The leaves are glossy and oval-shaped, with prominent veins running through them. Some varieties may have variegated foliage with creamy or yellowish markings.

• Light: Hoya carnosa prefers bright, indirect sunlight. Place it near a window where it can receive several hours of filtered sunlight each day. It can tolerate lower light conditions but may not flower as prolifically.

• Watering: Allow the top inch of the soil to dry out between waterings. Water the plant thoroughly, ensuring that excess water drains away from the pot. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot.

• Fertilization: Feed Hoya carnosa with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid fertilizing during the winter months when growth slows down.

• Pruning: Trim back any leggy or overgrown stems as needed to maintain the plant's appearance and overall health. You can also remove any spent flowers or yellowing leaves to encourage new growth.
