Haworthia limifolia, also known as Fairy Washboard or File-Leafed Haworthia, is a small, low-growing succulent prized for its distinctive, triangular leaves with raised ridges or "file-like" patterns along their surfaces. The leaves are typically dark green to brownish-green in color and may develop reddish or purplish tints when exposed to high light levels.
Light: Haworthia limifolia thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. Place it near a window where it can receive plenty of filtered sunlight throughout the day. It can tolerate some direct sunlight, especially in the morning or late afternoon, but avoid intense midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Watering: Allow the soil to dry out partially between waterings, and then water deeply until water drains from the bottom of the pot. Avoid overwatering, as Haworthia limifolia is susceptible to root rot. Reduce watering frequency during the winter dormancy period.
Soil: Use a well-draining succulent or cactus potting mix to ensure proper drainage and prevent waterlogging. You can also add perlite or coarse sand to improve drainage further. Avoid using regular potting soil, as it retains too much moisture.
