Ficus Microcarpa Ginseng "Banyan Fig"

Ficus microcarpa, commonly known as Ginseng Ficus or Banyan Fig, is a popular indoor plant prized for its unique appearance and ease of care. Ficus microcarpa Ginseng is characterized by its thick, twisted trunk and shiny, oval-shaped green leaves. The trunk is often grown in a bonsai style, resembling the shape of ginseng roots, hence the name "Ginseng Ficus." It may also develop aerial roots over time.

Like other ficus species, Ficus microcarpa Ginseng is known for its air-purifying qualities, helping to remove toxins from indoor air and improve air quality.

• Light: Ginseng Ficus thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. Place it near a window where it can receive plenty of filtered sunlight throughout the day. It can tolerate lower light conditions but may not grow as vigorously or produce as many leaves.

• Watering: Allow the top inch of the soil to dry out between waterings, and then water thoroughly until water drains from the bottom of the pot. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot. Adjust watering frequency based on environmental conditions and the season.

• Fertilization: Feed Ginseng Ficus with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce fertilization frequency during the fall and winter months.

• Pruning: Prune Ginseng Ficus regularly to maintain its shape and size, as well as to remove any dead or yellowing leaves. You can also trim back excess growth to encourage branching and denser foliage.
