Light

  • Most Euphorbia species prefer bright, indirect light to full sun.
  • Indoors: Place near a south- or west-facing window.
  • Outdoors: Provide full sun to partial shade, depending on the species.

Watering

  • Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings.
  • Water deeply, but infrequently, using the "soak and dry" method.
  • During the growing season (spring and summer), water more regularly. In winter, reduce watering significantly, as they are dormant.
  • Overwatering is the primary cause of issues like root rot.

Soil

  • Use a well-draining soil mix, such as a cactus and succulent mix.
  • You can amend regular potting soil with sand, perlite, or pumice to improve drainage.

Temperature and Humidity

  • Euphorbias thrive in warm temperatures between 60°F and 85°F (15°C to 29°C).
  • Avoid frost or temperatures below 50°F (10°C), as most Euphorbias are not cold-hardy.
  • They prefer low to moderate humidity and can tolerate dry indoor air.

Fertilizer

  • Feed with a diluted, balanced cactus fertilizer during the active growing season (spring and summer).
  • Fertilize every 4–6 weeks. Avoid feeding during fall and winter.
