Dracaena massangeana, commonly known as the Corn Plant or Massangeana, is a popular indoor plant valued for its attractive foliage and easy care requirements. Dracaena massangeana features long, sword-shaped leaves that are typically green with yellow or light green stripes running along the center. The leaves grow in a rosette form at the top of thick, cane-like stems, giving the plant a palm-like appearance.
Light: Dracaena massangeana thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. Place it near a window where it can receive plenty of filtered sunlight throughout the day. It can tolerate lower light conditions but may grow more slowly and develop fewer variegated leaves.
Watering: Allow the top inch of the soil to dry out between waterings, and then water thoroughly until water drains from the bottom of the pot. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot. Reduce watering frequency during the winter months when growth slows down.
Fertilization: Feed Dracaena massangeana with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid fertilizing during the winter months when growth slows down.
