Small cacti are popular indoor plants due to their low maintenance requirements and unique appearance. They come in various shapes, including globular, cylindrical, or columnar, with some species having branching or clustering growth patterns.
Light: Small indoor cacti thrive in bright, indirect sunlight. Place them near a south or west-facing window where they can receive plenty of sunlight throughout the day. Some species can tolerate direct sunlight for a few hours each day, especially if they are acclimated gradually.
Watering: Small indoor cacti are drought-tolerant and prefer infrequent but thorough watering. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, and then water deeply until water drains from the bottom of the pot. Reduce watering frequency during the winter months to prevent root rot.
Soil: Use a well-draining cactus or succulent potting mix to ensure proper drainage and prevent waterlogging. You can also add perlite or coarse sand to improve drainage further. Avoid using regular potting soil, as it retains too much moisture.
