Alocasia cucullata, commonly known as "Chinese taro" or "hooded dwarf elephant ear," is a tropical plant prized for its unique foliage and easy maintenance.

Alocasia cucullata features large, heart-shaped leaves that are glossy green with prominent veins. The leaves have a distinct hood-like shape, which gives the plant its common name "hooded dwarf elephant ear."

• Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top inch of the soil feels dry to the touch. Ensure proper drainage to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.

• Light: Alocasia cucullata prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight as it can scorch the leaves. Place it near a window where it can receive filtered sunlight or in a room with bright, indirect light.

• Fertilization: Feed the plant with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce fertilization during the fall and winter months.
