Scindapsus aureus, also known as "golden pothos" or "devil's ivy," is a popular indoor plant appreciated for its trailing vines and variegated foliage. It is a vining plant that can grow quite long if given the opportunity. Its trailing vines make it perfect for hanging baskets or cascading from shelves.

  • Watering: Allow the top inch or two of the soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, but ensure that excess water can drain freely from the pot to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot. In winter, reduce watering frequency as the plant's growth slows down.

  • Light: Scindapsus aureus thrives in bright, indirect light but can also tolerate low light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. Place it near a window where it can receive filtered sunlight or in a well-lit room.

  • Fertilization: Feed the plant with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce fertilization during fall and winter when growth slows down.
