Washingtonia Robusta is also known as Mexican fan palm or Mexican washingtonia.It is a fast-growing species that can reach heights of 70 to 100 feet and it is a single-trunked palm tree that is commonly used in landscaping. It has become invasive in riparian pareas, orchards, and landscaped areas in the San Francisco Bay area, southern Sacramento Valley, and on the south coast of California.Mexican fan palm leaves are fan-shaped, about 3 to 5 feet wide, and have sharply toothed petioles about 4 to 6 feet long. Leaf bases are split and reddish-brown in color.
