Musa × paradisiaca is the known name for the hybrid between Musa acuminata and Musa balbisiana. Most cultivated bananas and plants are triploid cultivars either of this hybrid or of M. acuminata alone.

Native to Mediterranean region. Musa Paradisiaca is fruit tree. Leaves are large with the overlapping bases. Flowers develop into a banana fruit that vary in length from about 10.16- 30.48 cm. Grows well in winter.
